Board Certification Requirements

In order to be certified by the ABA, as a Pediatric Anesthesiologist, one needs to first complete the requirements for primary board certification in Anesthesiology

1. Anesthesiology license requirements
unexpired license to practice medicine or osteopathy in at least one state or jurisdiction of the United States or province of Canada that is permanent,
unconditional and unrestricted.

2. Ability
- perform independently the entire scope of the pediatric anesthesiology practice without accommodation or with reasonable accommodation.
3. Participate and meet the Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology Program® (MOCA®) requirements.
4. Must have completed a one-year fellowship program in pediatric anesthesiology that was ACGME-accredited throughout the time of enrollment, this must be verified by the program director.
